Fingerprint distributions in the hands of Tangata Whenua

The data relating to finger-print patterns of 430 Maori males and 236 Maori females are presented. The overall percentage of whorls is very high, and that of loops and arches particularly low.

Maori Males: whorls=68.77%; loops=30.77%; arches=0.46%
Maori Females: whorls=63.47%; loops=35.89%; arches=0.64%.

Pakeha/Europeans have around 23% whorls, 63% loops and 8% arches
